Pre-Move Survey

Prior to the removal, Mr Munro Snr or Jnr will personally visit your home to discuss your requirements and explain the services and options available. You will then be provided with a written quotation for your move. The quotation is free of charge and without obligation.

If a visit to the property is not feasible, there are alternatives. One of our surveyors can take details over the telephone; you can fill in our Self Estimate Form. We can also send you a form in the post if you wish.

The information gained from the pre-move survey (or your Self Estimation Form) allows us to provide an accurate quotation which shows a breakdown of all the services we can offer you, including:

• Packing fragile items
• Packing non-fragile items
• Export packing
• Dismantling and reassembling furniture
• Storage
• Any additional services

This allows you to see exactly what you are paying for and to pick and choose the services you require if necessary

Fully trained and experienced crews load your valued possessions with the utmost care and attention. All items of furniture are blanket wrapped and secured by webbing in the custom built removal vehicle to protect them on their journey. On arrival at your new home all items will be placed in the rooms of your choice and in the position you require. Before leaving, final checks will be done to ensure you are happy with the complete service. All vehicles carry a full set of suite covers specially designed to keep your suite from getting marked or wet during your move. Carpet protectors will be placed over all flooring covering during your move. Hanging garment carriers are standard on each vehicle and will come on day of move on the vehicle.

Our staff are trained in the latest moving and packing techniques; they know how to pack and move personal effects - they do it every day. Taking advantage of our professional packing service is the best way to ensure that your goods are packed quickly and safely.

We will protect antiques, polished furniture, silverware, fine china, and all your possessions using a range of purpose-designed cartons. We also can pack valuables to export standard, providing extra protection sufficient for safe transportation overseas.

A goods in transit insurance of up to £50,000 is included as standard in any estimate provided by us for a direct removal. If you require to use our containerised storage facilities, included in your weekly rental is fire and flood insurance of up to £5,000 per container.

If additional cover beyond these levels is required then this can be simply done by contacting our office in advance of your removal. We will then obtain a quote for the additional cover and revise your pricing plan accordingly. Our terms and conditions are detailed on the reverse of any quotation issued.

If you plan to pack yourself, we can supply and deliver cartons and tape free of charge as soon as required. Packing paper is available at a small charge and can also be supplied. This can be arranged through the office. We will require a £40 deposit cheque. The cheque is not cashed, but held on file until return of the cartons and then shredded. We can return the original cheque if required. When you are finished with the cartons, contact us again to arrange for a free uplift.

Our part load service can provide a cost effective method of delivery for clients on a strict budget and for whom speedy delivery is not a priority.

To illustrate how a part load service works please refer to the illustration below. This shows the vehicle split into various loads based on volume. Our vehicles operate on this basis throughout the U.K. with delivery dates arranged in advance. All our U.K. fleet is in continuous communication so we are able to confirm specific times en-route.
