How much will I pay and are there any concealed costs?

After Mr. Munro visits your property or we receive a self estimation form we will send a detailed quotation in writing within 1-2 working days. This will clearly layout all costs for services required and all prices include insurance. Unless you request additional services or have frustrated delivery (see below) then your price is fixed as quoted.

What happens if I suffer a delay in gaining access to my new property?

Unfortunately on occasion delays do arise in gaining access to your new property whether it is delays in key transfers or previous tenants having not fully cleared the property. We understand that this is out of your hands and we are well used to handling this in an understanding and efficient manner. We always aim to deliver your goods on the same day as access is obtained. If a significant delay has occurred we reserve the right to levy additional charges to cover out of hours working.

Can I protect myself against frustrated delivery charges?

When one of our estimators calls round or you complete a self estimation form then feel free to request a quotation with an additional waiting time waiver cost. This charge would be shown separately on your quotation and is an optional service which would cover you in event of a delay (this protection is in place for the original removal date and would not cover for goods that have to be held in our store and delivered at a later date).

What happens should I need to cancel a confirmed removal?

Should you need to cancel your removal at any time, we make no charge for a cancellation with more than 7 days notice. Within 7 days of your removal date, we reserve the right to charge up to 50% of your removal cost. If the cancellation was to occur within 24 hours of your date, we reserve the right to charge up to the full quoted cost of your removal.

What happens if there is a breakage or damage?

It's a rare occurrence - we really are that careful. In the unlikely event of this happening, all breakage or damage claims are dealt with efficiently and amicably under the terms of our insurance.

Do you supply packing boxes and packing materials?

We supply and deliver boxes and tape free of charge, once we receive a deposit cheque. This deposit is held on file and is either destroyed or returned once we receive the flat packed boxes back. We deliver every Tuesday and Thursday between 8.30am - 4pm.. We can also supply packing paper and bubble wrap at an additional charge.

Can you do my packing?

Yes, we have trained packers for those customers who require this service and this is normally completed the day before the main move. This cost would be quoted be separately.

What about storage?

We have large storage facilities at Seafield within Edinburgh were we can hold your goods securely until re-delivery is required. We can offer you the best rates available, fully insured, whilst providing a quick and efficient service.

Can I gain access to my goods whilst held in Storage?

Access can be arranged through our office. A minimum of 48 hours notice is required in order for us to provide access to your containers. A small charge is levied for this additional service.

Pianos: I have a piano - does it present any problems?

Well, moving pianos is highly specialised; we often move them, but it does involve a lot of expertise and there will be an extra charge involved.

Estimates: I work late - can you come and see me after hours?

Yes, we can arrange for Mr. Munro to visit your property at a time to suit. We offer late appointments Monday to Wednesday up to 7pm if required.

How many vehicles do you have?

We operate 10 vehicles from 3.5 to 17 ton to cater for any size of removal and depending on access. All are vehicles are all fully equipped and are inspected every 6 weeks under strict guidelines laid down by the ministry of transport.

Do you use sub-contractors or agency staff?

No, we only ever use our own staff and they are fully trained, with experience and are fully uniformed. They will ensure your removal is completed with the minimum of disruption.

What about moving abroad?

No problem, we can arrange for direct delivery to Europe or offer a part-load service using a well respected sub-contractor.

What happens if your vehicle breaks down?

We have a very modern fleet of vehicles so we very rarely have any problems but just in case we have a breakdown service covered by DAF trucks. This is UK wide. We also have a spare truck in case of any emergency breakdowns. Our fleet are inspected every 6 weeks under strict rules laid down by the department of transport.
